Sainte Foy

Rated as one of the top 10 ski resorts in the world by The Sunday Times, Ste Foy is referred to as the ´jewel in the crown´ of the Tarentaise valley. “Size doesn’t always matter and Ste Foy is a case in point...it has long been the preserve of off-piste guides, who bring their clients over when the powder in nearby Val d’Isère has been ground to crud. Now however, thanks to some sensitively handled redevelopment, the place has been reborn as a cute and quietly luxurious retreat for families (or anyone else who’s tired of the mega-resorts). Yes, the skiing is limited, but at all levels the quality is superb”.

Sainte Foy is an exclusive unspoilt resort, situated at 1550m with lifts taking you up to 2840m. The ski area is excellent for families with superb records for snow. Situated close to well known resorts such as Val d'Isère/Tignes/La Rosiere and Les Arcs, Ste. Foy is ideally located to enjoy away days as part of your stay. There are mixtures of old and new chalets all at the higher end of luxury and Ste. Foy is one of the prettiest villages in the Tarentaise Valley. The village has a few restaurants and a couple of bars.

"Sainte Foy is located close to the Italian border and as well as having its own little known and uncrowded ski area, is an excellent base for those with a car to visit some of France's classic ski areas, within a thirty minute drive, including Val d'Isere, Tignes and les Arcs as well as the cross border French/Italian region of La Rosiere/La Thuile.  It's also more affordable than most of these giant resorts surrounding it, with the local lift ticket (and everything else) far cheaper than most of its neighbours. Although more of the big operators are showing an interest in St Foy the resort so far remains remarkably unspoilt and has preserved its authentic charm and local architecture." The Daily Snow - July 06

There are no lift queues, no hoards of skiers on the pistes so conditions stay good and it's where the ski instructors from Val d'Isère often come to ski on their days off. There are quite a few fast red runs and 10 blue runs of which are very long. There is also an extensive network of green runs winding around the resort, great for beginners. There is also 3 separate nursery slopes for children with a free lift for children. The resort is suited to off-piste enthusiasts alike with superb large areas of unmarked runs.

Ski Packs – for lessons, equipment and lift passes, please ask for further information. We will arrange these for you.

There are also plenty of other activities if you want to take a rest from skiing or Boarding. Snow Shoeing, dog sledding or simply enjoying the view from one of the on mountain restaurants are all available.
